Students Enjoy Last Enrichment Day of the Academy Year

On Monday, Academy students enjoyed their last Enrichment Day of the year before leaving for some well-earned summer holidays.

Year 7s spent the day at the Academy doing a variety of activitieswith a treasure hunt, a BBQ lunch, and helping preparations for the Academy 1st Birthday Party on Wednesday, including some highly secretive cake-making as a surprise for the party celebrations.

Year 8s left the Academy by coach at 9am and headed for the bright light of London. There they visited the Tate Modern to see the latest works of modern art on display there. After lunch on the South Bank, they walked across the famous 'wobbly' bridge towards St. Paul's Cathedral, and visited Skinners' Hall for a tour of it's magnificent and illustrious surroundings.

Year 9 students also spent the day at the Academy, albeit with a bit of a twist. With a theme of 'A day in France', students and staff rose to challenge of coming along dressed as either a famous French person, or their take on what a typical French person would look like. They started the day in typical Gallic fashion with a breakfast of croissants, followed by a carousel of events, including a BBQ lunch, cheese-tasting, games of boules - or petanque, for those in the know - and designing a French t-shirt.

Students and staff allthoroughly enjoyed their days, which are developing a real popularity for the creativity andvariety of approach.
