Academy falls silent for Remembrance Day

18/11/2016

On Friday 11th November students, staff and guests of The Skinners’ Kent Academy held their annual Remembrance Day Assembly. It was an opportunity for the whole Academy to gather together and remember all those who have fought and died for our country.

Amongst the invited guests were Guy Huntrods CBE, the Royal British Legion Branch Liaison Officer Dennis Homewood and the Deputy Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, Councillor Julia Soyke.

The Academy was privileged to be in presence of Guy Huntrods CBE who served in the Royal Navy and who spoke very movingly about his role in the Second World War, taking part in Arctic convoys, his involvement in the D-Day landings and being present at the VJ Day victory parade in Singapore.
