Year 11 students and staff at The Skinners' Kent Academy are celebrating excellent GCSE results today. Executive Principal Dr Hilary Macaulay said, "I am incredibly proud of the achievements of all our students and the progress they have made this year. Highlights across the Academy this year include a record breaking 27 Grade 9s, 80 Grade 8s and 123 Grade 7s. We have also celebrated several outstanding individual performances with 5 students achieving an average grade of an 8 across all subjects, 8 students achieving an average grade of a 7 and 40 students achieving an average grade of a 6.
These excellent results will ensure that all of our students have the very best opportunities for the next stage in their studies. In addition, there have been some outstanding individual performances including Javier Sequeira who gained five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s amongst his GCSE grades, Joshua Duncan who achieved five 9s, two 8s, one 7, one 6 and an A*, and Cerys Crook who achieved two 9s, four 8s, two sevens, one 6 and an A*.
Over a quarter of the cohort achieved a Grade 7 or above in Maths and English and a new record number of top grades were achieved across a range of subjects. We are delighted that many of our Year 11 students will be returning in September to study the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme and look forward to welcoming them into our Academy Sixth Form."
