In July, students also celebrated an exceptional set of results in the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme. Grades are awarded on a 1-7 scale (with 7 being the highest) and students achieved an impressive 100% of grades awarded between 3-7 in their courses, significantly higher than the world average. 14% of students also gained the highest possible grade for their Reflective Projects, which are in depth individual essays focusing on a personal investigation of an ethical dilemma.
Principal Matthew Tompkins said, “The Academy is very proud of all of the student’s fantastic achievements in both A Level and IB this year. This shows the continued success of our post 16 provision and we look forward to building on this success.”
There is still time to apply to the Academy Sixth Form for entry in September 2017. With a wider variety of courses to choose from, the International Baccalaureate has proven to be a pathway of success for our students with the courses equipping students with a variety of skills for work, apprenticeships or university.
