Uniform
Students in Years 7-11 are expected to wear the compulsory generic Academy uniform from the list below and then choose from either Option 1 or Option 2. Items marked with a * are only available to purchase from our uniform supplier, Monkhouse.
- Black Academy blazer with red piping and Academy logo.*
- Black Academy jumper with red stripe and/or sleeveless Academy sweater with red stripe* or plain black, long-sleeved/sleeveless black v neck jumper.
- Plain black showerproof coat/jacket of own choice with no large logos, or other embellishments
- Plain black socks or plain black tights.
- Plain black low-heeled sensible shoes. No trainers, boots (as defined as those items of footwear where the ankle bone or higher is covered either partly or in full by the footwear), suede or fabric shoes, or shoes with open toes or open heels. No trimmings i.e. metal bars, labels, tags or decorations. Soles, laces and stitching must be black. Black shoes should be worn on the way to and from the Academy and be robust enough to ensure that feet are kept dry in wet weather.
- Academy bag (choice of Academy rucksack or Academy messenger bag)* or a plain black rucksack with no logo.
Option 1
Official Academy kilt* This is of a specific design and only available from Monkhouse. Kilts should be no shorter than knee or longer than calf length. Kilts should be worn on the waist not the hips, nor should the waistband be rolled up/folded.
Or
Black tailored trousers. No jean-like material, high fashion trousers/leggings (no studs, trimmings or cargo pockets), skinny trousers or shorts. Trousers should be worn on the waist not the hips.
White revere collar blouse. Any t-shirt or underwear worn underneath should not be visible.
Option 2
Black tailored trousers. No jean-like material, high fashion trousers/leggings (no studs, trimmings or cargo pockets), skinny trousers or shorts. Trousers should be worn on the waist not the hips.
Black and red Academy tie*
Plain white school shirt either long or short-sleeved with a collar design to support the format wearing of a school tie, tucked in and buttoned at the neck. Any t-shirt or underwear worn underneath should not be visible.
Optional: Academy shorts* (worn with plain black socks). These are of a specific design and only available from Simmonds. The shorts can be worn through Terms 5 & 6 and for current students during Term 1 of the Academic year. All new Year 7 students must wear full winter uniform in Term 1.

Sportswear
SKA branded compulsory
- Red Academy polo shirt*
Non-branded compulsory
- PE Jumper: Academy branded PE jumper* or a plain black, round-neck sweatshirt with no logo
- Plain black shorts, skort, or sports trousers
- Plain white sports socks
- Trainers with non-marking soles
- Astro or moulded football boots.
Second Hand Uniform shop
The Academy has a second hand uniform shop which is run by the SKA Parents Association.â

Essential equipment for every lesson
It is the responsibility of the student to make sure the following items are brought to the Academy every day in their Academy bag:

It is very important that students have the correct equipment with them at all times. Successful learning will often be dependent upon this. If students forget to bring equipment, appropriate sanctions will be applied. Sports equipment must be brought in on timetabled days.
