Open Events

We understand how important and daunting it can be to choose the right secondary school for your child. That's why we invite you to join us for one of our Open Events so that you can experience what The Skinners' Kent Academy can offer.

Open Mornings - Thursday 30 April and Thursday 14 May 2026

We have had a few spaces open up for this event. To book your place, please click here.

Open Mornings are taking place at either 8:45am-10:15am or 10:45am-12:15pm. Please park and enter via Blackhurst Lane.

Additional Open Morning - Thursday 21 May 2026

Due to high demand, we have organised an additional Open Morning date. We warmly invite prospective families and students to join us at 8:45am-10:15am. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:

Take a guided tour of our facilities
Observe teaching and learning in action during a normal Academy day.
Hear from our Principal about our educational vision, curriculum and values.

Parking and entrance via Blackhurst Lane.

Year 4 & 5 Secondary School Experience

Our annual Secondary School Experience runs during the Easter holidays and is open to all children in Year 4 and 5. The event gives students a first-hand experience of what life in a secondary school is like.

With a wide range of activities including Science and Maths Challenges, Drama and Music Workshops, Sports, Team Building and Art & Design, there's something for every child to enjoy.

Events for Primary Schools

The Skinners’ Kent Academy is delighted to offer local primary schools the opportunity to participate in two bespoke initiatives designed to support and enhance pupils’ educational journeys:

Year 5 Secondary School Experience Days

These days are designed to support pupils in preparing for the transition to secondary school. They provide a valuable opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the secondary school environment, helping to build confidence and ease the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.

Year 3 and 4 Curriculum Learning Days

These sessions offer pupils the chance to engage in lessons that are specifically tailored to your school's curriculum needs. Delivered by experienced Academy teachers and making full use of our specialist facilities, these days allow Year 3 and 4 pupils to access resources and expertise that may not be readily available in a primary setting.
