As you know, this year has been designated the National Year of Reading, led by the Go All In campaign, which aims to reignite a love of reading by making it meaningful, relevant and woven into everyday life.

At the Academy, we have very much hit the ground running.

Last week marked an exciting milestone as we launched our own Academy publication, now available for worldwide purchase. The book reflects our shared belief that reading is not simply a skill, but a gateway to curiosity, confidence and lifelong learning. It is a proud moment to see our values and practice captured in print and shared beyond.  To purchase a copy please click here.

Our momentum continued this week as I attended the launch of Well Educated: Leading Schools with Wonder, Joy and Wisdom, published by the Professional Teaching Institute (PTI). I was fortunate to be asked to be one of the contributors to this national publication, which brings together leading voices in education to explore why education truly matters and how schools can nurture thoughtful, informed and inspired young people.

The Academy works closely with The PTI, a national educational charity dedicated to developing teachers and school leaders through rich professional development and deep subject knowledge. Their work aligns closely with our own commitment to high-quality education that goes beyond outcomes, placing reading, thinking and intellectual curiosity at its heart.

Taken together, these moments highlight something we care deeply about: reading matters because education matters. In this National Year of Reading, we are proud to be contributing not just to conversations, but to publications that champion learning, leadership and the transformative power of education.

We look forward to building on this strong start and continuing to put reading at the centre of Academy life for our students, our staff and our wider community.
