Careers Update
Back
Over the past month, our careers programme has been particularly busy and wide ranging, with activities taking place across several year groups.
We have now completed all Year 11 one to one careers interviews, ensuring every student has had the opportunity to discuss their next steps and receive personalised guidance. Students also took part in a Careers Focus Week centred on the automotive industry, giving them insight into a sector that continues to grow and diversify. In addition, we were pleased to host an alumni webinar, allowing students to hear first hand about post school pathways and career journeys.
Careers staff also attended the Year 9 Options Evening to support students and families as they consider GCSE choices. Our Careers Advisor joined an Army Engagement event to learn about career opportunities and pathways. Assemblies this month included a talk for Year 9 from an electrical engineer working for Transport for London and for Year 10 from a Project Manager employed by a large global construction company, both of which provided valuable real world perspectives.
Alongside these events, significant planning has been taking place behind the scenes. We are preparing a series of smaller targeted workshops for KS4 students focused on sectors of particular interest to those attending. We are also organising a Year 8 employer encounter for the summer term and a range of Sixth Form careers events later in the term.
