World Book Day
Back
World Book Week has been a busy one for our students. We started the week with an author visit from Griselda Heppel, who spoke about writing her books ‘Ante’s Inferno’ and ‘The Tragickall History of Henry Fowst’. This was followed by World Book Day-themed Silent 10’s, linking literature and reading to their subjects.
On Thursday, the students took part in a variety of competitions with the chance to win House Points. These included our costume competition, a ‘Bake a Book’ competition, designing a bookmark, writing a short story, and creating a comic. We also held a book sale in the Library throughout the week.
Some notable effort for some of our costume competition, especially from those who made their own outfits, include Max and Alfred for their hand-made 3D printed Storm Trooper helmets, Lola for her ‘Rocky Horror Show’ costume, Harry for his ‘Minecraft Steve costume’ and Kacie and Lyla for ‘Thing 1 and Thing 2’.
We hope our students enjoyed the week. It was wonderful to see them all taking part and coming up with ideas of their own. Please take a look at some of our staff and student costumes from Thursday.
